Timber Queensland is championing applied agroforestry R&D and extension in Queensland for enhanced profitability for landowners and investors through the integration of timber, carbon and beef production. This has included a three-year silvopastoral trial of commercial pine systems in North Queensland.

By helping sales permittees, operators and contractors to understand what they need to know, our goal is to support industry in complying with native forest legislative and regulatory requirements. This website aims to support the future of the forestry industry, and the forests we work in.

Timber Queensland was the lead participant in a Cooperative Research Centre for Developing Northern Australia (CRCNA) project to identify the status and growth potential for northern Australia’s forestry and forestry products industry.  The study  identified the Northern Australian industry could potentially treble its production value to up to $300 million per annum and create 600 new jobs over the next five to ten years.
