2023-2024 Timber Queensland Growth Scholarship Recipients Announced

Queenslanders seeking funds for a professional development boost have a little extra time to submit their application for Timber Queensland’s Growth Scholarships, with the deadline extended to close of business, Monday 3 July.

The scholarships offer between $2500 and $10,000 for lucky recipients to put towards a professional development opportunity of their choice, such as a course, degree, domestic or international conference attendance, a study tour or other learning project.

Leveling the playing field, the scholarships are open to anyone working or studying within the forestry and timber value chain, from those working in plantation nurseries or harvesting operations, to sawmill operations and factory staff right through to builders, certifiers, and even office staff working for organisations within the industry.

Past applicants have included researchers, foresters, operations and human resources professionals and students.

Applicants must be aged between 18 – 45 and live in Queensland.

The awards on offer are the Kennedy's Timber Award - $10 000, HQPlantations Award - $5000, AKD Award - $5000 and the DTM Timber Award - $2500.
