Queensland Hardwood Furniture Wins Industry Gold Logie

Central Queensland spotted gum garden furniture producer, Ausgum Furniture won the ultimate “best of the best” award at the 2002 Sydney International Furniture Show last week.

“This is a magnificent achievement for fledgling Emerald based Ausgum Furniture, wholly owned by Emerald Sawmilling Co”, said QTB CEO Rod McInnes.

“Emerald sawmilling proprietor Adam Gleeson, his family and staff have taken a small business sawing Queenslands rugged spotted gum specie and turned it into a producer of fine furniture and in the space of 12 months has earned the furniture industry’s gold logie.  QTB congratulates Adam and all concerned”, Mr McInnes continued.

“Adam Gleeson’s foresight in adding value to our hardwood resource in this way provides excellent utilisation of this resource whilst adding jobs and economic value to his regional community”.
