Why Timber

Timber - Climate Change Champion

Climate change is an issue that can’t be ignored.  Large amounts of fossil fuels used to produce energy intensive materials, such as steel and concrete, result in high greenhouse gases and carbon emissions.

A simple answer is to use more timber – the world’s most environmentally building product.

Timber has the natural ability to store and lock away carbon plus timber plantations generate large volumes of wood residues which could replace fossil fuel as an energy source, reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Forestry fights climate change

Forestry plantations are our cities lungs and natural greenhouse gas filters.

Timber products store carbon

Did you know that carbon remains stored in the timber used in buildings and wood products?
